For transcribing text

Does anybody know if there is a "native" Linux application that would allow similar functions as Express Scribe. The later is a player for Windows and Mac with very good features if one wishes to transcribe a conversation saved in an audio file.

I am a journalist and something like that for Linux would be great for me. Any ideas?

Would be interessting for me, too. As student of psychology I have to transcribe Interviews. The way I do it at the moment is just to open openoffice and totem... but it kinda sucks. Hmmm... you can use wine for Express Scribe but thats not what you want and surely know :-) ... if anyone has a good idea I would be interessted to.

So far I have found this application which looks useful. Have not tested it yet and only plays MP3.

I would still be grateful to anyone who would have a good suggestion. If there is a professional out there willing to make such an application...hmmmm. :D
