I've got an ASUS P5Q Pro motherboard that has a realtek chipset. In Windows I use the utility packaged with the driver to boost the microphone and do some noise suppression. It works surprisingly well.
I was wondering if there is something similar in Ubuntu that would improve the quality of my on-board audio for podcasting.
Recording in Ubuntu without any tweaks sounds like recording in Windows without any tweaks, so I'm just hoping there is some super-awesome software out there that I could set up to do this. (Perhaps I just need to force myself to learn JACK again?)
Thanks in advance, I look forward to switching back to Ubuntu for recording my podcast :)
