Ubuntu 8.10 in my xps m13

how to upgrade having all the things that my computer came with sice i got the dell Ubuntu 8.4 laptop. i try to run everything in a virtualbox and nothing works but the only thing i need the most is the wireless working.

i dont know how to install the divers disk the computer came with every time i try nothing happens.

can anyone plase help?
