I have left the panels on the desktop fairly similar to default, however i did add two. One on the left and on the right. Both of these I have set to not expand, auto hide, and show hide buttons with out arrows.

for some reason every time i either restart the computer or restart X both of these panles are place on the right side overlapping each other. at fist this was just an annoyance and i could just go into the properties of one of them, check expand, move to the right side of the screen and uncheck expand. this seemed to work for a while, now however one of the panels is telling me that "some of these options are locked" however i do not have the panel locked it is set to "allow this panel to be moved "

:P in the process of typing this I have discovered the lock message for my panels seems to be backwards for whatever reason, not a big deal... anyway, is there a fix for keeping the panels on the side I have assigned them to after a restart of the computer or X ?

running ubuntu 8.10 x64 need any more info I'll post if so.

Have set the orientation of the panels by right-clicking the panel in question, select properies, then set the orientation to Top-Bottom-Left-Right.
