MegaMan effect

I had no idea where to post this because it isn't really a support topic, but I guess it sort of relates to leisure.

There is a Mac OS (and now Windows) application called MegaMan Effect that is a very fun and whimsical app that any gaming nerd might like to have on their system. It's demonstrated here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9MBpApnAbE

I wanted to ask if anyone out there can modify this to run on Linux. From the system tray, preferably. The project's code is available here: http://blog.clickablebliss.com/2007/06/30/universal-megamaneffect/

I would make it workable under Linux if I had any idea how. Someone could make a lot of Linux geeks happy by doing so.
