This is not a demo with time restrictions or spawn time increases. This is the full version of the game absolutely FREE. Spread the word! The fansite kit has been updated to help in those efforts.

ill check it out, since metacritic gives it favorable reviews.

wha-what?! when/how/why did this happen?

This is great news nonetheless, I suggest we should decide a time where ubuntunians meet and slaughter eachother!

I can also highly recomment this game, especially now with the new and improved melee system, which is much less frustrating for new players (but also great for veterans).

You have to add however that the free game has some small limitations compared to the premium one ($9.99):

  • You have only 4 inventory slots (compared to 6)
  • You can only play each hellbourne once (unless you plan to play a lot this will not bother you at all)
  • There are no persistant stats and achivables (not much of a deal)

It is free, but there are limitations mentioned above. It was talked before.

idk their reasoning, but they said s2 was a financial failure as it is, and thankfully the devs have other money supplies to draw from. I guess without the other sources they'd have to close shop already. But this free account thing (or easier melee and no maliken) boosted the game from ~40ppl on average to ~150

On the page, it also says there is now a macosx client as well. Should bring in some more players as well :)

Great news, thanks a lot.

Sad to see it be a commercial failure though )c:

It doesn't look too bad, I guess I'll have to give it a shot. Thanks for the info!

Yeah. But the creators said they they learnt from s1 and s2, and will apply lessons in their next project (http://www.heroesofnewerth.com/)

Too bad that the maliken is taken out (it's the 2nd unit they remove). It was really a cool and well made unit, hope to see him return!

What the rumors on HoN?

Maliken will return in a less broken implementation.

There are no real info about HoN, just that it will not be like Savage ;)
