Hi. i was wondering if someone could please tell me why i'm having problems with my computer running ubuntu 8.10. Videos (avi's) are really jerky/jumpy and i can't turn on the desktop effects! I am assuming that this is a graphics card problem but i don't know where to start when it comes to resolving this!

The computers is a dell sx260. Full Spec: http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/hardware/desktops/0,1000000973,10002898,00.htm

Thanks

I would try getting newer intel GMA drives from their site and compiling them (the instructions should be in the manual which is only one page long)
