Ubuntu Server to Netboot OS X clients

Hello folks,

I would like to create several Ubuntu Server's around campus that provide Netboot services for multicast ASR restore and afp restore. Essentially, I would like to avoid having to use a CD to boot up mac's in the labs or faculty / staff offices while not purchasing 12 copies of OS X Server to do this single function across multiple subnets. I've done a little searching and see a good information page at passwall which has some good details that are a little dated and not specifically for ubuntu. The details are on this link.

I also haven't seen any substantive posts or how-to's. Before I delve into figuring this out myself I would like to know if any of you out there are doing this, have done this, or are so inclined to try it out :)

I am looking to do basically the same thing. Where I work we have labs around campus with Macs and want to be able to remotely netboot them and push an image to them. I do not currently have a free Xserve sitting around to do this the Apple way but I do have access to hardware to do it via Linux. Any help would be great!

Hoping that someone found a solution for this by now.. please post with an update
