it used to, but that was before i fornicated everything up (installed e17, got rid of e17, this, that and the other thing, etc.). real player opens and works, audacity as well. i tried opening xmms from the right click menu (two entries, oddly) and the terminal.

this is bizarre! i opened up nautilus, right clicked on a music file and opened it with xmms. it's running, it just doesn't show up and neither do any of the files i have on my desktop in gnome.
