Hello all,

I have a Logitech USB headset which I use most of the time for listening to CDs etc. With most GNOME software this works fine---the USB headset is detected and set as the default GNOME sound device---but various non-GNOME software uses the regular speakers instead.

Notably, RealPlayer and Ogle use the regular speakers, as does Totem now I have switched from totem-gstreamer to totem-xine.

How do I go about altering this so the USB headset is the default sound output device for all software?

Many thanks,
