The first thing I did with my mini was turn of gdm and install xmonad.
Unfortunately I lost the ability to control the brightness or put the laptop to sleep.
Is there some kind of additional daemon I need to be running for those functions to work? I tried launching gnome-power-manager, but that didn't seem to help.
Thanks.
So far the mini has been a bit of a let down. I never realized how often I used the tilde and pipe keys until they were made awkward to hit. For once, since I had a preloaded linux laptop, I expected things to just work without any fuss, but I couldn't even use ssh without googling for a workaround to some wireless bug. I was also pretty annoyed to see the yahoo toolbar installed.
