I've recently come across an issue. The drive is not all that old, it is currently the primary drive for my ubuntu 8.04 64 file server box (no gui).

I'm not certain exactly what this means. I was unable to find straight answers online. Mostly questions about what's going on, it's very bad and references to usage load problems.
The thing is, I don't think this could be a load issue. I only have one PVR which accesses this file server for media and my personal computer which accesses this server for personal files and media.
I'm not certain if this is recoverable or if the drive is now trashed.
Suggestions?
Could the power supply not have been able to handle all my drives and over time compromised the hard drives?
I had 2 500GB (1 is the primary drive in question), 3 320GB, 1 200GB, 1 1TB and 1 DVD drive. AMD 64 2GB DDR w/ 600 Watt Power Supply. All hard drives are SATA. The DVD is IDE which is rarely used. The mother board is capable of 8 total SATA drives and 4 IDE's.
I'm about to invest in 4 additional 1TB drives and move to a RAID 5 system (never done that before). So if the power supply isn't strong enough I would like to know.
Suggestions?
