I have a question about the forums themselves. Since this is related to art/themes/graphics, I'm posting it here.

People must remember that back when Halloween (October 31) was arriving, for that month or so we had a little pumpkin graphic under the main Ubuntu Forums sign. (Upper left-hand corner of the screen).

My question is, why don't we have a Christmas or other related graphic for those who don't celebrate Christmas - perhaps a winter scene, linux penguin ice skating, etc., use your imagination; you must understand my point by now. Why don't we have anything like this? I know Christmas is still under 2 weeks away, but if the forum staff were to do anything like this, it would have most likely been in the first week of December, especially since other holidays go on during the whole month. Hanukkah lasts for a week, doesn't it? (Pardon my ignorance.. ;)

So, just wondering if this has struck anyone else as odd, and wishing to see what people are thinking about it. Maybe this discussion could push the staff to put something up, which would be terrific.

First: Moved to Forum Feedback & Help.

Second:

It has been discussed.

As I'm sure you also noticed, we've recently rolled out some new bean images for everybody.

But if the staff member who designed the Halloween icons creates some more, I'm sure they'll get put out over the holiday season :)

We had one planned, but real life got in the way and the admins haven't been able to do anything about it. I know that we had (and still do) hope to do something, but a few of us had some major projects and deadlines come up that have kept us busy.

October was a slow time, so it was easier to accomplish. That really is the only reason we haven't done something now. Sorry...

Well I was thinking to make a christmas theme as I did with halloween, but never come around it. Too busy with UGA, UF and mod building for a game.

maybe next time...

As long as you share some of your custom icons with us. :)

Well that makes a lot more sense now ; ) I'm sure I would have some free time between now and next year if I could help in some way with decorations.. :)
