Hey all-
Installed 5.10 on my trusty old Toshiba Satellite 4000cds (PII 266mhz, 160mb RAM, 3.1gb HD) and it works beautifully.
However, it will not recognize a sound card. According to Toshiba's Support site, it has a Yamaha OPL3-SA3. Being a Linux newbie, I have no idea what to do to fix this.
Any help would be appreciated.
And for anyone wondering, Ubuntu runs wonderfully...even increased my battery life by like 75% on the ORIGINAL battery from who knows when, get about 1:45 as opposed to 1:10 with windows 98 se (I swap hard drives now and again, as it uses a special Toshiba notebook drive that I have two of). Took a little doing to make the wifi card work, but my linux-smart friend fixed it up nicely.
