How much is the recommended swap space? naguguluhan kasi ako...Nung nag install ako ng ubuntu sinet ko siya sa 1 gig para sure...ok lang ba kung 1gig ang swap space ko?

The general practice of swap is 50-100% of your current memory. Since it is generally part of your hard drive, setting it to more than that won't really give any tangible advantage.

the general consensus is (or was): it should be twice the size of your ram. however, i think this doesn't apply anymore. palaki na kasi nang palaki ang size ng ram ngayon eh. so if you have 4 gigs of ram, it would be overkill to make your swap size to 8 gigs!

anyway, you'll be fine with a 1 gig swap.

i was curious as well. in an old os that i used to use i always set it at **swap = 1.5*physical RAM** and i carried over the practice when i switched. however, a quick google gave me, https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SwapFaq
