Synaptic Package Manager Error

Hello everyone. This is my first post on this forum. :) Sucks that it has to deal with a problem though. I was running Vista on here until about a week ago. I was having problems with Vista, and took it to a buddy of mines house to format and reinstall. He told me that I should install Linux instead of Windows. I saw what this could do on his computer before I put it on mine. I love it.

This is the first problem I have had with Ubuntu. I asked my friend about it first, but he wasn't sure why my computer is doing this. I took a screen shot of the error message. So, hopefully someone can help me with this.

Also, I have been playing around with Linux for awhile now, but its very new to me. Is there anything I could read that would make me understand how this works better?

What exactly did you do to get this message? Plus, it seems to me there are two screens on top of each other which makes it hard to see. Can you do the same thing again and try to get a better screenshot? It will make helping you easier.

The error message already suggests what you have to do. Type in a terminal:

sudo dpkg --configure -a
