Is there anyway to save the positioning of guides in Gimp so that when I re-open the file the guides are as I left them.

I would have presumed that this was automatically done when you save the file, but I'm new to Ubuntu (just over a week now) and think that I may be doing something wrong.

I'm saving the file as .png, and wonder if that has anything to do with it?

Any clues? Please help.

Thanks.

You need to save your pics as GIMP native XCF to save guides and other such stuff.
