Iam new to the Linux world. I would like to kow what would be better for me to use the Ubuntu desktop or Kubuntu.

What are some of hte key differences?

There are many threads on this topic. However, the best resource I can offer isn't a thread. The main difference is in the Desktop Environment (GNOME in Ubuntu, KDE in Kubuntu). Look **here** for a great comparison. Then you decide.

i think kde is more like windows than gnome. personally i would use ubuntu if you can
