How to get a System76 laptop if you live in Europe?

This seems to happen all the time, you find something really badass, like the Serval Professional, but then BAM!, no shipping to Europe.

So I wonder, what do you do when that happens?

• Simply resigning is not an option here =)
• And I prefer not to rely on complete strangers with a $2500 laptop.
• A return ticket to the US only to buy the laptop could somewhat increase the overall price.

Then I'm out of ideas...

Please be aware of the fact that if you do come up with a way to get one sent to you in Europe, we are currently unable to provide technical support internationally.

There are third party companies that have a service where you have a US based address with them and then they will forward the package to you in europe. I used the same thing to get one here in Japan. Mine was the APO box version for government employees

Do your research about custom duties before having something shipped to you: they might bump up the price a lot.

There are UK resellers selling the same basic hardware -- eg http://www.kobaltcomputers.co.uk/comanchesli_overview.php -- but the price! If you had to pay VAT to import the Serval (is that how it works?), that'd come to ~$1720: the Commanche works out at ~$2990. The change would buy you a nice wee trip to the USA, with the side benefit of helping to melt a bit more of that pesky polar ice.
