So after an absence from Ubuntu on my laptop, I tried out 8.10 today. It has always been an incredible pain to get the video drivers, and to get Compiz working as well.
Today, as I tried it out, everything was on, all drivers were included, Ubuntu for once lived up to what it should be. It is quite nice not to have to install ANY drivers :D
PS: My absence was created by the purchase of a 24" iMac.
