Pros and cons of GNOME vs KDE

Hey guys, I was just wondering what the best and worst differences are as to using GNOME over KDE and vice versa.

personal choice! I like gnome, thats not to say kde is worst or better

So it doesn't really matter? No performance differences? Resource usage differences? Ease of use?

I like the eye candy of KDE, but don't like how it handles my network. That's not to say that GNOME has it's own eye candy (would like to see widgets). And there's the nice simplicity of GNOME. I chose GNOME, but I'm not gonna say it's right for everyone. If you're comeing from Windows, you might feel more comfy in KDE.

Different people will tell you different things when it comes to KDE and GNOME (sometimes people get overly religious about their choice of DE :)). The best thing to do is take a look at both of them and come up with your own conclusions.

Not KDEvsGNOME or anything but. I don't use GNOME much any more, but with thunar on xfce it doesn't show the network listing like it does in nautilus.
