Just wondering if OSX software will run on Ubuntu. I know that MATLAB's Mac version runs without a problem, and I was wondering if this was to be expected with other software.

OSX Matlab runs in Ubuntu? Ya, it is a little tricky setting the permissions, but once that is done it runs fine. It is listed as the Mac/Unix version. I am using R2008a.

Oh, OK that makes sense if it is a UNIX executable. I don't think there are many other apps that can do this. Most OSX apps rely on GUI libraries that do not exist in Linux.
