If you think that Ubuntu is amazing, wait until you try Slackware.

Honestly I think linux in general rocks and the distro's are just preference. Seriously you compare linux to osX/windows and basically the only thing you get by paying hundreds of dollars for other OS's is... the ability to spend thousands of dollars in proprietary software applications.

Mind if you elaborate? Or is it general overall goodness?

I started messing around with Dapper and had to spend days on this forum to get stuff to work. Still had a bit to sweat on Hardy. With 8.10... graphic card, wireless, drives, audio, SCIM, etc. etc... %$^# work out of the box! I got all I needed in 10 minutes flat.

&@%# AWESOME (plus the desktop looks really good!)
