hi guys, I would like to know how to control the CPU utilization in linux preferrably in debian. Is there any commands or script or a java program for controlling the utilization? And i would like to know how to check the CPU utilization in debian. I ve tried ps and top command. Is there any other command or script or a java program for checking that too?? Thank You..

There is a program called powertop that allows you monitor cpu usage and shut down unneeded services.
In Ubuntu, there are applets that let you set your CPU frequency, but I don't know about in Debian.
