Not sure if this is the right place, apologies if it is not. Im new here and to Linux after many yrs starting with Dos...I like and also considering as workstation OS for our school networks.

There is an old post re geovision and ubuntu about a yr ago... No it will not run under wine, or VM...because I think there is no driver support for the geovision 600 card ?? After several months of googling, I have found: 1/many requests if GV could run under ubuntu 2/ 1 obsure instance about drivers that comes to nothing

I have contacted Geovision tw, they have no plans for Linux support.

Im not a coder, wouldn't know where to start....

I do believe there is a real demand for ubuntu/geovision CCTV support.

This is the only thing holding me back from a full switch to ubuntu on all my machines

Cheers Steps

Unfortunately, you're stuck with Windows until Geovision decides to come out with drivers for Linux (or someone is kind enough to reverse engineer a driver). Sorry. :(
