Hello to everyone,

I was recently given a new macbook and automatically installed ubuntu. Everything was allright, but a brief look into forums made me realize that it has a lot of problems.

For example: sound, battery (2 hours :s)...

I was wondering if previous versions of mac, had these problems, and if they can be solved. Because I am really thinking about giving it away:(

Thank you very much for your attention

Give it time. Yes, previous versions had the same issues, but things have gotten better. Power usage is still higher in Linux than OSX and I don't expect that to ever be the same in both.

If you only want Ubuntu, then I would suggest getting a PC that is specifically built to run Linux. This will greatly increase compatibility and performance. System76 and Dell both offer great solutions.

P.S. I'll take it if you don't want it :)
