Help with Digital Camera

Hi,

I need help getting a digital camera to work. I tried getting my Samsung Digimax to work, and it doesn't appear that I can... (It wasn't listed as a possible choice from the program I was trying to download the pictures from..). So, I found my old concord easy, and noticed it was listed as a supported camera. So, I tried getting it to work.. It detects it, and even the camera knows it's running through USB. But, when I try to download the pictures it gives me the following error;

An error occurred in the io-library ('Bad parameters'): Could not find USB device (vendor 0x2770, product 0x9120). Make sure this device is connected to the computer.

The program I was trying to use was Gthumb image viewer.. If, that helps any. Also, I'll attach a screen capture.

Try searching the entire ubuntuforums.org for the name of your camera. It takes some time to run a search on the entire forums, but it's worth it. If no help comes out, then post your question in the hardware forums.

I have a Kodak EasyShare C360 digital camera and it works great in Ubuntu. I had a strange problem once (some error message I can't recall) but it was solved on a reboot.

ALternatively, you could try the following apps to manage your camera:

1. digikam
2. gtkam
3. ShowFoto

I have a Concord 4060. I couldnt get it to work as a digital camera, but I've been able to mount the drive as a USB drive and access it to copy the pictures. Though, that was only after I upgraded to kernel 2.6.12

I run Kubuntu 5.10. I dont know if this is of much help. Just my 2 cents.

I don't know if this will help any, but before using Ubuntu I was able to plug a Kodak DX 6490 Easyshare digital camera into a USB port, running Xandros OS 3, and get my pictures just fine using digikam. I don't know if digikam will work the same way under Ubuntu but give it a shot.

I am fairly new to Linux (running SuSE10 with KDE on kids PC at home) and very new to Ubuntu having decided to try Gnome on a spare tower at work. I am dowloading DigiKam now. It's a good app with a library of digital cameras it can recognise. It even works with my Aiptek pen camera.
