hi,I have just installed Ubuntu 5.10 onto my computer. but it detected my screen wrong. Now my screen is displayed in 640x480 resolution with refresh rate 60HZ. But in fact ,it can display in 1024x768 with 85hz in Debian 3.1 and FC4. I have modified the /etc/X11/config but it seems that doesn't work.

How can I fix this problem.

My video card is nVidia GF400 MX

Which file did you edit? It should have been /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
