If all os's became free, would you still pick Linux over Mac and Windows?

Hi, I was just wondering if you would still pick Linux over Mac and Windows, if all the os's became free. :) Oh and please state a reason!

I would tri-boot them. They all have their advantages and disadvantages.

free as in beer, or free as in freedom? or both?

Free as in freedom and free as in beer ? In that case I would play with MacOSX for sure, and wait a long time till all the open source programmers would remove all the backdoors from the Windows versions, and then I would try to run Windows in my coffee-machine :)

+1. OS X being free (as in speech), it would be possible *cough*much easier*cough* to put on a "PC".

I'd dual boot linux & osx, osx for adobe apps. I can't think of a reason to use Windows if I could use OSX. ;o

I don't play games or do any heavy multimedia editing, so OSX and Windows offer no advantages for me.

I would still use Linux, as 100% compatible Windows and Mac OS X compatibility layers would quickly become available.

Mac OS X and Linux dual boot like I have now. I love both equally. I'm definitely not a Windows person.

This is a great point, so I change my vote to 100% linux. I'm not much a fan of apples UI, so this would be a ton better.

i would still use linux.

i do not use it because wind-os has a cost, i use it because i like it, i have grown very fond of some variants of linux, it's addictive.

you can quit smoking because its bad for you, nothing bad about linux, probably sitting at my desktop all day:lolflag:

I too would use linux as the business practices of MS and apple are still stained with corruption.

Linux because everyone else would have torn windows and then made wine work perfectly with linux. People would also be able to port all the useful video and editing software from mac because you would have the source code so you could just make wine work with mac as well and then everyone would be happy.

Just imagine downloading photoshop from a repository.

I would probably try out OS X first then decide.

I'd stick with Linux, I'm too attached to KMess and Amarok

Oh how I wish these threads weren't hypothetical.

Wine already runs on macosx, it's actually used as the basis for a lot of game "ports" to said platform :wink:

I'd primarily use Linux and OSX, and keep Windows on a small partition just for games.

I think I would finally get a mac for fun,but really if this were to happen it would be a great thing for Linux and other free oses.

As the Wine team and ReactOS team can just go oh here is the fix and not worry about lawsuits :).

Hell I would probably be running ReactOS,PClinuxOS,And MacOSX if that happened :).

If they were always free? I probably would be using Windows and Mac and would have never heard of Linux. :(

If they all of a sudden were free, I probably wouldn't use them, as arch works perfect for me. :)

No, I'd dual-boot Windows and Linux. I'd have Windows around for stuff I need to use that is not so easily supported in Linux.

I've tried all three on my HP laptop. I would still stick to dual booting Windows Vista and Fedora Linux.

I would stick primarily with Linux. On the extremely odd blue moon occasion that I needed something radically different I would still be reluctant to use any of the other systems, free or not.
