Vertical lines on display

I moved Breezy Badger over to a larger monitor and get 8-10 vertical lines on the display when ever the screen resolution is increased to more than 1024 X 768. The refresh rate does not seem to be a factor. Checked the file etc/X11/xorg.conf and the monitor and refresh rates are listed correctly. Chipset is Intel 82815 and monitor is Trinitron G520. Seems like during the install, the video hardware was refered to as 810 rather than 815. Any chance the '855resolution' fix would apply here even though this is an earlier Intel chipset? Any ideas for getting rid of the lines so I can tighten up the screen resolution? Thank you.
