back using arch. i used ibex for a week and, while it was fun to have everything working without any effort, my laptop made a lot more noise. that's it. that's what got me back to arch. xorg was still a pain in the butt to get right (and i think i only got it right by wasting more of my good luck). it probably always will be. everything else was a breeze (and i was just as drunk as i was for my first installation). woohoo.
what was that noise, i wonder

Fare enough.
I might like it, I'll give it a go when I've got download space on my account again.
Thanks for this thread. My laptop is pretty loud on Ubuntu, and when I install Arch soon, I'm glad to know it will get quieter. Sometimes it's even embarrassing.

I hope you understand that chucky chuckaluck's experience doesn't mean it'll work out the same for you. That shouldn't withhold you from installing arch though.

at least, i've given him hope.
Haha, I know. I just pointed that out because I noticed my laptop became unusually loud on Ubuntu like his.

:lolflag: Chucky you crack me up.
For me you are the source of chuckles, but now you are spreading hope.
Have you considered starting a religion?
I hear that in your country it isn't all that difficult & it gives great tax advantages too...
