I'm sort of thinking out loud here... Trying to define a problem and perhaps get some feedback here. Perhaps solutions exists... Anyway, I'm not quite a newb but I still have a long long way to go before I reach true linux Geekdomhood.. Anyway... For month's I've lost my audio. Ref. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=864356 I've had other priorities besides gaming getting my sound to work has been a low priority. So... someone responded to my post which let me to this solution: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=789578 So far this page has 219K+ page view...
The guy who create this thread took alot of time and did a nice job. I followed this instructions in the first 3 pages but I don't really have the time to sift through the other 99 pages to find out the other missing pc that I need....
Anyway, my 5 year old has this little computer game called guess what I'm thinking. Basically, its a simple yes-no game... For example Is it Animal? Yes/No Is it Vegable? Yes/No. you get the idea... Basically within 20 questions you get your answer... I actually pretty eerie how well it works..
Why can't something like that be created in Ubuntu?? Anytime I run into a configuration issue, I can basically kiss my very precious fun time good by... I'm sure this is not only happening with me, but many others as well... A lot of time is wasted by not only people with problems, but the people offering solutions as well.
I would much rather use the forum to discuss ideas and concepts rather than, saying, Hey I have this problem that a 1000 other people have but I can't find the solution.
It really bothers me to waste my time looking for something. Is there a 20 question tool out there for Ubuntu?? If not, could something like that be created??
Ok... I was just doing some surfing.. I found this: http://openexpert.org/ Does anyone have any comments on this?? Am I posting in the appropriate forum?
[Edit again].. I was looking at the site and trying out some of the demo's.. Apparently it's not very developed ;( Has anyone ever given some thought about some type of system for configuration issues that would standardize how the tag's in this forum are being entered??
[Yet another edit] Has there ever been any thought given to some type of utility to automatically populate forum tags in some type of standardized way? If people would answer standard questions, that would generate standarized tags you could have a more uniform way to see if someone has run across the same issue as me..
