Ubuntu Backports Weekly News, Issue #3 01/06/2005
Project Description: The Ubuntu Backports project's goal is to provide a stable AND up-to-date Ubuntu Linux system by backporting desktop applications from Ubuntu's Development branches and Debian Sid to the latest stable release.
This week's recap: Happy New Year, Everyone!! I went on vacation last week, so no backporting activity. Before I went, I did manage to backport Thunderbird and a few other packages.
Warty Extras Branch Open! I'm pleased to announce the unofficial official opening of the warty extras branch. Currently, NX is packaged and promoted.
Stable Branch Promotions: The packages listed here have been introduced in the warty-backports-staging testing area for at least the past week. They've been tested by me to work, plus they have no outstanding bugs against them. Therefore, they've been promoted to the stable tree.

Into the future:
Well, no word from SF yet on their new FRS thing, so continue to stay tuned. I have lots of schoolwork and exams to deal with, plus standardized testing and such. January will be a slow month.
