I'd really welcome this program in backports. It is already in Dapper.

This program looks really good. But it is really unstable. It keeps crushing all the time :(

I can confirm this. This may be due to using this KDE software under Gnome. It crashes very often for seemingly no reason at all.
At one time I tried to resize my plot window and my Ubuntu completely stopped responding. All I got was a lot of colorful stripes on my screen and couldn't change to another console with <Ctrl><Alt> either. Had to reboot my machine by <Alt><Print>B.
I think, I'll look for another plotting software now. The gross instability of LabPlot should really be addressed, especially because this software ist listed among the programs that can by installed by Applications -> Add/Remove.
Yeah, the interface is very intuitive. It does an amazing job at importing data files.
It crashes all the time here as well, though.
