Gedit 2.13.0 has been released, it should hit dapper in the next hours.

2.13.0 is faster and lighter and features a load of improvements: draggable tabs, vfs saving, new plugins system that allows plugins to be written in python, a new interactive search UI (try ctrl+k) and many other things

Compiled and installed, i'm running breezy yes, and its pretty light, if someone provide me with a ftp or something to upload debs, because my personal site is getting way to much traffic already, i can't keep uploading. any suggestions?

Sounds pretty cool. A few questions first though:

(1) Is it meant to be stable? (noting the odd-numbered release notation) (2) Is the new plugin system compatible with existing gedit setups?

1) well it is, it haven't crashed on me or acted in a weird behavior,

2), well i can't say for sure, but i think its the dev(not ubuntus) job to keep the plugins updated, i don't use plugins in gedit

The Ubuntu dev who packaged 2.13.0 recommended against packaging the first unstable release of a GNOME package :)

As a result, this backport is DEFERRED until it stabilizes more.

FWIW, it seems to be working fine for me with my old config settings. I don't use it for coding or anything heavy like that though.
