At work we have a monitor in the lobby that displays a slideshow. I'm looking some software that will display the slideshow. Currently I'm using gthumb, which is okay, though I need a few more things that it can't seem to provide. I'm looking for something that I can add and remove images from the slideshow, without having to restart the slideshow; I need the ability to start the software in slideshow mode, preferably from a CLI. The box I'm using is running XFCE with Ubuntu Server 8.10.

I've done a search, but I could not find anything that would fit the above requirements.

Update: I decided on Gwenview, it doesn't allow me to add and remove images and have the change show, but I wrote a quick scrip that will restart it every night. I tried doing the same thing with gthumb, but it kept throwing an error.
