when I select USB DAC for my sound out, my mp3s still play through my internal Sound Blaster Card and not the USB.

USB DAC audio is a USB standard device and works fine when I run under Windoze.

Any help appreciated.

Try a different MP3 player. I noticed the same thing with the several players I have. Some use my USB speakers and others don't. Some will allow setting for the USB speakers and others don't. Linux users can make fun of XP all they want and XP will not make that mistake.
