Beginner Questions: Live CD?

Hi,

I am an absolute beginner, and I want to try out Linux. I am a bit concerned as I dont want to mess up my OS X conifguarion. From what I understand I can burn the live CD and boot from it to try out ubuntu, without altering OS X?

Are there any issues I should be concerned about?

That's right, running the live cd won't make any changes on your computer at all. Just go ahead and try it.
