You shouldn't mention Linus's name in vain

#120

Yes, I'm sure he's terribly upset at me right now. And what's worse, he has root access to my PC.

In all fairness, we should all just hold hands and sing to him "kumbaja".

Aren't we clever, sharing our interpretations of other people's posts like anyone else cares?

#149

Cleverness had nothing to do with it, but while you're at it; please, endow us with more of your contradictions. Its most gratifying, I'm sure.

#150

Oh, cleverness had nothing to do with it? *Really*? Why, I would have never guessed it had you not so kindly pointed it out to me.

I love it when the clever clever people at my ISP turn on NXDOMAIN search redirect so that when I search from the address bar or mistype the domain name I'm typing in I get a page of results from the brilliant team at Yahoo search, sure beats that dopey NXDOMAIN page most browsers can manage and sure beats dumb old Google results any day!

<offtopic> Out of five times I've found it on I've turned it off using the 'preferences' link three times and rang them and semi-politely abused them for turning it back on four times - now their level 3 techie is gonna call me at work on Monday to try to get to the bottom of it and make it not happen again like that guy promised me about three months ago, last time they turned this crap on!

I know more about DNS and what NXDOMAIN means than the person I spoke to today, hopefully whoever calls me Monday knows more than I do! I bet they just replaced their config file(s) without reference to what the last guy did to the instance(s) about three months ago. </offtopic>
