Bassically war of the IRC clients.

There is reason: I'm trying to choose an IRC client and not sure which one to pick.

But basically just want to know what everyone thinks is the best.

#2

IRSSI is the way to go! ;)

#3

I use X-Chat for a gui client in Linux and Windows. For console client I use IRSSI or I used to use BitchX which is no longer being developed.

#4

Moved to Recurring Discussions.

Irssi, of course.

#5

Add another vote for irssi and Xchat. I run irssi most of the time, even when in a fully graphical environment. I run Xchat when I'm personally attending to my wife's computer.

#6

I use irssi sometimes, but normally LostIRC is my favorite.

#7

Yeah I should have put "other" as an option

I also wanted to put BitchX, Pork, Barnowl, Cgiirc, Chatzilla, LostIRC and some others but just comment if your rooting for them

#8

fsirc. because, as the name says, it's f***ing simple.

#9

Irssi, then Konversation comes in 2nd.

#10

Irssi, and WeeChat.

I used Irssi for around 10 months, then I started to need support for socks5 proxies, so I switched to WeeChat, which is almost identical to Irssi in look (after some customization).

#11

Konversation and XChat. Quassel is pretty nice too.

Sorry irssi fans, but I don't like text-based IRC clients unless I can't get X running.

#12

Weechat

#13

Irssi, no contest.

#14

actually...i like pidgin

#15

Irssi and xChat.

#16

irssi :) SSH + screen + irssi = win tbh ;)

#17

pidgin because I like to keep all my IM together

#18

Irssi. Accept no substitutes.

#19

I like ircssi :). Even though pidgin is a good x-based irc client.
