Vim or Emacs

I personally use Vim, though I use other programs with Emacs-like keybindings (ratpoison, conkeror, and others).

Emacs is better than Vim IMHO. The console version of emacs should be installed by default in Ubuntu like Vim is. It's the first thing that I do with any new install.

Everyone knows vim is the best editor out there :).

Eh, no entendi :D

Anyways I like both, I used to hate vim for having modes, but I'm trying it out to edit C files and I'm getting the hang of it. Emacs, well it's very addicting what can I say, I can pretty much do anything from it.
