Ok, so I personally like this version of Ubuntu 8.04, (well based on 8.04) http://thinkgos.com/dgadgets.php So instead of installing UbuntuCE, I was looking at installing dansguarding, that netfilitering program i saw in the forums here, and the script also for emailing the netfilitering logs and the denied list from DansGuardian.
Few questions: can I make the config files for Dansguarding uneditable by me and sudo and just editable by another username (my wife), also the proxy options for firefox, so I can circumvent dansguardian.
Also, is it possible to tell my wife say, you'll get an email every X hours, and that netfiltering program puts in the log when it was shut down. Can you make it so it's and Dans' log files aren't editable?
I have tried reading lots of pages for all of this, but am not 100% sure on how to get this all going, while locking down some of the key aspects of the respective programs.
EDIT: Removed question about PICS, did not realize it was voluntary rating system. Anyone know a way for like Dansguarding to "rate" websites kind of like CE does?
2nd Edit: Net filtering I mean to be Net Responsibility, Sorry.
3rd Edit: I found foxfilter: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4351, which I can have my wife put in a password, but would still like info on the other items.
