I have a sound blaster live card the headphones jack works but the Digital seems not to. I know the speakers work because once again, windows tells me so. How do I fix the Digital Out problem?

try this
volume control select preferences and tick all options to enable use next select switches tab my cmedia card I ticked IEC958 OUTPUT and I have digital out
I clicked on the Volume Icon in my Breezy Badger and clicked Mixer. In the switches tab I made sure the IEC958 tab was on. I was wondering if my digital not working would have anything to do with this. http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=103358. Please let me know.
Also when i plug in my headphones I just get a high scratchy noise.
