why am i given a warning when i was not ask what my intention is?

hi i recieved an anticipated warning from a moderator, a warning which assumes that my supposed intention of a thread is bad. while I may not contest the closing of the thread.

I was not given the chance within the thread to reply, state further the context.

the supposed method if i may suggest should be..

  1. ask the forum user (in the thread, or PM?), what his intention is.
  1. if the moderator anylases that its indeed in bad context, then a warning is invoked.

a little more extra steps for the moderator but could go a long way in users and mods relationships.

i have to admit i may have chose wrong collection of words leading to a distasteful context, but that's it.

but to jump in, giving a warning (which cmmon, I have observe has now become the pseudo infraction in this forum) is also distasteful.

I appreciate the polite way you chose to address the issue with us here in the Resolution Center. Thank you for that.

I have investigated the report fully, including the original post, reading the comments of the other forum member(s) who reported your post, as well as the comments of the moderator who issued the warning.

A warning is just that, a warning. It isn't even a slap on the wrist, it is merely a note saying, "Hey, this really isn't appropriate. Please don't do this."

After reading all the material, I think the staff member was polite and appropriate. Whether he had done so using an unofficial PM or as he did using an official warning that sends a PM, you were still contacted privately and discreetly with no further repercussions.

The post you made may have been done in innocence, with no ill intent. I believe you when you said so. Even so, it wasn't in the best of taste and hence the warning and polite comments as to why.

I support the actions of the staff in this matter.
