Hi, I'm running Debian Lenny on my old i815 Intel graphics card. I can't run compiz but I can get the window shadows with Metacity composite manager so YAY!!!
However, is there a manager to control the type of effects I want to have for metacity? I'm not sure what types of effects there are, so I can't try em out. Thanks for your help...
Not too many. You'd be better or w/ XFCE, it has composting that should work for your video device.
My understanding is that Metacity's compositing can be turned on, or off.
