Hi everyone,

first of all, I have next to none programming skills, so this is just a basic idea that I had for a while:

I need a software to edit my datafiles and plot them decently. OOo can handle tables, but the plots look as bad as those of M$-Excel. Gnuplot gives nice plots but it is a pain to try to edit tables or calculate something from the data. The only software that does what I need to date is Origin. There are clones, but they don't work very well with the Origin files and are sensitive to the decimal seperator (which is a comma in Germany instead of a dot).

Could one think of a plugin that allows to i.e. right click on a table column in OOo and plot it by gnuplot? then you only need a little toolbar to set the x and y titles and the graph poroperties (and so on), gnuplot has anyway. Imagine a tool like OOo with the plotting capabilities of gnuplot. who would still have to pay for Origin...
