This is annoying, I've just done a fresh install of 2009(one), I got the net to work after some manual edits, I sorted the ipv6 issue, but I can't work out why only foxy is connecting. I can't get pidgin or xchat to work, all I get is a timeout error, any suggestions?

have you checked your security level. Look in the Mandriva Control Center -> Security
If the level is not set to "Standard", i could accur some problems.

My settings were set to "High" so I've altered that, but still not having any luck with pidgin or xchat, they both just timeout ...... eventually! It's strange that firefox and the package manger / updates can get through?!
