I'm using XP SP2 dualboot with Intrepid Ibex. I can go online w/ my ubuntu but not on XP. Before I upgrade to Intrepid I had Hardy installed boot OS can go online. Is there any settings on my Intrepid that is blocking my XP not to access the internet? Please help.

There's no way that Ubuntu can do that. The problem is only with your Windows XP.
I know but its weird it only happens in Intrepid. I've read same issue from another forum but the owner did not post any solution he just said that its working. I'll try to install hardy again and observe my connection. If it works i'll install again intrepid.
well i think u having problem with router.. i think you're using dhcp proto, it could be the mac address still recognize by your router.. the router itself couldn't renew ip with your pc mac address
Sometimes I have this problem too. Hindi ko alam kung pano ma pinpoint yung source ng problema. Ang ginagawa ko na lang e keep on dialling the connection sa pldt. PPPoE ang gamit ko. Nakaka connect in 5 or more tries yung sa Xp. Other than that, sorry hindi ko na alam.
I do have a router but I haven't set it up yet. I'm using a modem from globe w/ is also DHCP enabled. ;)
Did you flash or upgraded your router firmware?
mga sir good morning. parang ganyan po yung problema ko. kaka-install ko lang ng ubuntu kagabi. nag automatic na yung connection after ng installation. pagbalik ko sa XP, nawala yung LAN. di ko naayos kagabi and tinulugan ko na lang. pag- on ko nung laptop kanina, inuna ko yung XP para i-check kung may internet na.. meron na ule. nag ubuntu ako and meron pa ren. pagbalik ko ng XP nawala na naman. may nabasa ko kanina na mukhang kelangan daw e total power off yung machine and hindi lang basta restart. di ko lang po sure kung pareho kame ng issue ni skipper. noob lang po kase ako sa ubuntu

pag-DHCP I think ganyan talaga. sa smart-bro I always have to be redirected to their portal each time I switch browse from and to my guest OS in virtualbox to reactivate my account...
makasingit na nga po.. dual boot din kasi,smar bro din gamit ko..nakarouter din ako(3 comp)..pero hindi ko pa po naexperince ang problem na to? pero minsan nawawalna ng connection at napupunta ako sa portal ng smart,marahil dahil ito sa router ko na hindi pa configure ng tama...baka ganun lang din yung sayo...kasi simula nang nagdual-boot ako hindi ko pa naexperience tong problema na to...
