I'm glad i can find most of the useful applications in Ubuntu once i installed it (not like in windows... takes 1 hour to install 1 day to get all software up and running). But...
Ubuntu would need a tutorial that could be found on the desktop in LiveCD mode, or after the installation, for new users, and also, Wine should be pre-installed in case somebody hasn't an internet connection.
This is my personal opinion. What do you guys think ?
Wine should not be pre-installed because users should avoid windows programs and software from outside the repos whenever possible.
The other suggestion about a first run tutorial has come up often. It comes down to how will it be done, and most importantly, space on the installation disc.

No big deal, a 6 page tutorial like mines teaches you how to use Ubuntu and how to install items. Other things can be learned from forums and internet...

I also believe in freedom of choice, but bad or insecure choices should not be encouraged. They can always install it if they want it, and believe using it is worth the risk.
Have you ever checked out Super Ubuntu?
