Would it maybe be appropriate to lock catlett's Grub tutorial thread?

Hi Ubuntu forum moderators and staff,

I'm guessing many of you may all ready familiar with catlett's "How to install Grub from a live Ubuntu cd" tutorial thread:

I've noticed that most of the people who post to that thread have such a wide range of causes for why the tutorial doesn't work for them, that it seems like it would be more appropriate if they would just start their own threads instead. It would be much easier to answer individual threads and keep track of them, because right now it gets rather convoluted when there are so many people posting entirely different problems (it's almost like IRC or something) even though they may all be having problems with the Grub commands in the tutorial of some sort. Also, it would be much easier for people who search the forums to have the problems distinct from each other in separate threads; that way they would be much easier to follow. And lastly, I think it's worth mentioning that catlett hasn't even been around since February 2008, so it is up to others to answer questions in that thread as it is right now. So what do you all think, would it be appropriate to lock that thread? Thank you for your time and consideration.

I don't think that this is a great justification for locking the thread but I do see your point; Perhaps a bolded note to keep discussions pertaining to the HOWTO itself and when in doubt, start a new thread linking to the HOWTO.

As far as the document itself despite the OP being gone I still feel the contents are more or less factually correct and useful for reference.
